If you’re struggling to hit your daily protein goal, I know how it feels. I was the same.
And like most problems in life, it can be solved with a quick google search.
That’s what I did. It lead to me conjuring up this super high protein, low calorie and cheap as hell snack that has made up the bulk of my breakfast for the past month or so.
So without further ado, here it is!
That’s it. Just two ingredients. Simply remove the film from the yoghurt, have a couple of spoonfuls to make room for your scoop of protein powder, mix it up and boom!
What’s more, by using plain Greek yoghurt, you get better macros than the flavoured versions and you can just make it the flavour of your favourite protein powder. My personal choice at the moment is salted caramel and before that was white chocolate, both delicious.
Here are the macros:
Skyr: 450g serving, 274 calories, 18g carbs, 2.2g fat, 45g protein.
Protein powder: 25g (one scoop), 103 calories, 1.8g carbs, 1.8g fat, 20g protein.
Total: 377 calories, 19.8g carbs, 4g fat, 65g protein.
I accompany this with some fruit (usually grapes, a banana, berries) and a trek bar.
It’s an awesome way to get a big bulk of your protein target done by lunchtime and it can be personalised to any flavour you like, win-win.
My typical weekday lunch at the office - no cooking/microwaving required.
That’s it for today’s article, let me know if you try this. Feel free to leave a comment with any of your high protein low calorie snacks. Speak to you next time.
